Design and artistry unite at the new Kohler Experience Center in New York City's Flatiron District.
by New York Spaces
Kohler took reinvention to a new level by opening up a new 10,000-square-foot Kohler Experience Center (KEC) in the heart of New York City's Flatiron District—which is in itself a burgeoning design mecca for industry professionals. Combing both design and artistry, the Center houses fully-functioning product displays, including Kohler's global offerings, ranging from showers, tubs, sinks, to toilets and more. The KEC's global display is a huge boon to architects and designers specifying products for international projects, rendering them choices at their fingertips. More than 20 kitchen and bath vignettes also line the space, perfect to inspire discerning clientele. Kohler's Experience Center also offers a private bathing space where guests can actually experience Kohler's designs firsthand, including products such as Real Rain, the DTV + digital showering system, the VibrAcoustic hydrotherapy (sign us up for this one!), and more.
A Kohler team of experts will always be on site to help design professionals source and maneuver the intricacies of complex plumbing projects both in the states and abroad. A private room will offer by-appointment video-conferencing for customers working wtih clients in international markets. "We recognized a tremendous need across the industry for a deeper knowledge and insight into how our products work," says Larry Yuen, Kohler Co. president of the global Kitchen & Bath Group. "From a plumbing perspective, the products that work in a bathroom in Milan are acutely different from those that need to work in a hotel in Dubai, for instance. Our goal with the KEC is to provide design professionals with both the ability to source and resolve all plumbing needs on a global scale from any KEC location."
Also at the new KEC location, Kohler brands Kallista and Robern have a dedicated space offering a chance for designers to shop the Kohler gamut. The KEC will showcase select pieces from Kohler's permanent collection as well as from its Arts/Industry program through the John Michael Kohler Arts Center. The program was founded in 1974 and has hosted over 500 resident artists in Kohler, Wisconsin—the brand's global headquarters. Designers can now get a direct glimpse of some of these beautifully inspired creations.
KEC NYC will be open seven days a week. While a Kohler team will be on hand, KEC will be run and operated in partnership with Best Plumbing Supply, a Kohler plumbing and distributer in the Northeast. KEC NYC is located at 6 W 22nd St, New York, NY 10010; 855.637.0967
