Fiona Druckenmiller of FD Gallery is the Event Co-Chair for The Opening Night of TEFAF NY Fall. Here are a few of top picks for this year's fair.
What first inspired you to get involved with The Society?
Fiona Druckenmiller: My husband has been on the board of MSK for over 20 years and has served on the executive committee and chairs the investment committee. We have been continually inspired and humbled by the doctors there and consider the MSK doctors and nurses to be heroic.
What inspired you to start FD Gallery?
Fiona Druckenmiller: I started FD gallery because of my love of jewelry, my belief that jewelry collectors could and should be better served, and the desire to do something creative as my youngest daughter left for college.
What are you most looking forward to at TEFAF?
Fiona Druckenmiller: What I love about TEFAF is the opportunity to see the very best in furniture, art and jewels. I am always excited to see the new beautiful pieces that dealers bring and exhibit.
Who are you favorite exhibitors at the show?
Fiona Druckenmiller: I always visit Perrin, Gallerie LaFebvre and Hemmerle.
Do you own any art pieces that you love in particular?
Fiona Druckenmiller: Yes of course: Lalanne, Art Deco furniture, and antiquities among other things. I love everything I have acquired at TEFAF and have never visited without purchasing at least one thing, from Yves Klein to Hemmerle to Bugatti!
What's your style when it comes to design?
Fiona Druckenmiller: My style is eclectic! I love to mix periods.
TEFAF New York Fall will take place from October 28–November 1, 2017 at the Park Avenue Armory. The proceeds from the opening night on Friday, October 27th will benefit the Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. You can Buy Tickets here.
