NYS: What is Décor Aid?

Sean Juneja, co-founder of Decor Aid: Décor Aid is a full-service interior design firm that uses proprietary technology and top-tier in-house designers to make high-end design easy, efficient and accessible to all. We work with all clients regardless of budget or scope, and pass our trade discounts, which often exceed our design fees. Décor Aid is making luxury design affordable and simple.

NYS: Why did you decide to found it? What need in the market did you think was not being filled?

Sean Juneja: When I moved to New York, I wanted to have a beautifully designed space where I could entertain. But when I hired an interior designer, I found the costs to be exorbitant. I had heard the same story from a lot of my friends: they wanted a professionally designed space, but didn't want to spend a fortune. And so that's why we decided to start Decor Aid: to make high-end design easy and accessible.

NYS: How many interior designers do you employ? How do you vet them?

Sean Juneja: We have a team of over 30 designers, all of whom are handpicked from the nation's top design firms. Each potential designer goes through multiple rounds of technical interviews with our senior design staff. We have been fortunate that a lot of designers have sought us out as they love our model and get the opportunity to work on their own projects that vary in aesthetic, scope, and budget.

NYS: How do you match-up interior designers and clients? Or do they choose a particular designer, or work with a team? How does it work?

Sean Juneja: One of the most important parts of our business is getting to know our clients. Once we have a sense of the client and the project (budget, scope, aesthetic are all taken into account) then we can pair them with the designer who will best serve their needs.

NYS: How many projects do you work on in any given year?

Sean Juneja: We have completed over 1000 projects in just two years! The projects range from single room curations to gut renovations. We're proud of every single one of them.

NYS: Why should clients feel comfortable working with a designer from Décor Aid?

Sean Juneja: We use a transparent, upfront fee structure. Clients working with Décor Aid also receive full access to our trade discounts, and these savings often exceeds our design fees. In addition, each client is paired with a dedicated project manager and has access to our amazing customer support team 24/7.

Sean Juneja: We're a New York-based company but offer our in-person design services in London, L.A., S.F, Miami, Boston, Chicago, and D.C. and plan to expand to another five cities by mid 2017.
