The works of sculptor and craftsman Mauro Mori are on view at Les Ateliers Courbet, through early June. Mori is a native of Cremona, Italy, with studios in Milan and in the Seychelles. Working in natural materials such as tropical Albizia wood from Seychelles and Carrara marble, as well as hand-finished copper, brass, and aluminum, Mori's pieces are both beautiful and func- tional. The artist has a direct affinity with each handmade form. "Behind one hand there is one heart; there is one person with emotion. That is what I try to reveal in my work." Both (above) is carved from a single piece of Paonazzo marble, and Tres [origin] crafted of Albizia, an invasive species harvested in the Seychelles.

Les Ateliers Courbet is located at 175 Mott Street, NYC 10012.
